PATRA Incorporating ACDA - African Caribbean and Asian youth Training

Policy Development in the Public Sector

We liaise with other African Caribbean agencies to anticipate and deal with any difficulties that may affect the African Caribbean community at large or the particular agencies within the sector.

This approach enables us to influence policies and strategies for Neighbourhood renewal and will be under-pinned by approaching and orchestrating a public negotiated Commissioning basis for filling these gaps by building capacity within the BME Sector where PATRA INC ACDA is the fulcrum of this initiative in order to deliver value to our communities

Our policy interests include;
  • to influence policy in the interests of children and young people;
  • to promote prevention rather than reaction in offending
  • to develop expertise on what works in all policy areas
  • improved access to health services and increased service capacity
  • improved life outcomes of adults and children with mental health problems;
  • improved quality of life and independence of older people;
  • improved life chances for children
  • increased participation of drugs users in drug treatment programmes and an
